Have your cake and eat it too…

Back in college I started a cake design company, Shorty’s Got “Cake”, where I designed and baked cakes for special events, weddings, work parties, etc. to make a bit of extra cash through school. I used to have a website until Yahoo totally screwed me with their lack of security and all was compromised and they finally granted my request to have the website removed although I lost all of my content along with that grant.

That said, I figured I would share with you how I was able to have my CAKE and eat it too! I decided to merge that endeavor into my blogging (being the stacked hat wearer that I am). I purchased the domain ShortysGotCake.com and have been adding my baking adventures to this blog as part of my creative outlet. Therefore, I am able to have a place where I can post my images, recipes, and written content and see where it takes me! Honestly, I don’t even care if people are reading these posts as it is so much fun to be able to see my content up on the internet and to see my writing develop. So, really, having my cake is being able to create content and share it with you all, eating it will be able to make a profit off of this all someday and I am going to stick with it and hopefully be able to find a career path that I truly do love and that allows me to make a solid income! I urge everyone to start small and chase their dreams, put yourself out there and see what happens!!

Below is the latest cake I made for my mama on her 60th birthday… I sugar-coated real rose petals for decor and made a delicious lemon poppyseed cake - NOM!
